This is just a quick look at how to refill the Bci-3, 6 and CLi-8 cartridges. We will provide full instructions with your order. Plugs provided should you choose, or already use this method. Quality tape will work fine! A small rust-proof or corrosion proof screw is another way!
Although the screw is not needed... It's good for extra safety to insure it's sealed.

Pigment black is used for text in the Bci3. If your model has a BCi6 too, 'Photo Black' that's for photo's. When you print a letter, it will use the BCi3. If you only have a BCi3 in you're model, then it will use it for both text and photo's. Pigment ink, once dry won't run if the paper gets say; a few rain drops on it. But since all other colours are dye based, you can use 'Regular' black to save money. Let's face it, if the paper does get wet, isn't it ruined anyway?

Colours & Photo black 'Bci6' hold 5-6ml of ink. BCi3 around 12-15ml. They hold more, but if you refill BEFORE the foam is dry, you will only need 5-6ml of ink colours, 12-15ml black. The reason for this is the cartridges foam must always remain wet. Never drain every last drop out, or you may have trouble getting them to work as the wet foams attracts the ink like a magnet from the clear chamber. Probably not good idea to refill cartridges let sitting around empty for day's, weeks or more. The original ink has probably gone hard. So always refill when 10% of ink is still in the clear chamber. This will also keep the gravity level and pressure perfect.

Drill hole must be 2mm in diameter. The syringe's needle we provide is 1.5mm. This 2mm allows air pressure to escape as you refill. The only secret to refill this type, is to have patience. Refill before empty, don't over-fill thinking it will save time. Have spares pre-filled if you need to get printing quick. Have tape, tissue and a crew if needed ready. Do the refill somewhere that can tolerate a few ink drops spilt. If you do it right, you should have no spills, no leaks and no ink on your hands. Ink can be removed with water, a tiny amount of bleach if you're not sensitive to it.

As you can see we provide a few methods blocking the hole you made. Use whatever method is comfortable to you. Experienced fillers can continue using their current method.
